Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a part-time File Clerk to assist our Collections team. This is a demanding and fast-paced position for an ambitious person. Candidates must be responsible, can multi-task, possess the ability to organize and maintain files; have excellent technical, interpersonal, and client-related skills; have a creative and diplomatic approach to problem solving and a keen sense of organization. We are looking for self-disciplined candidates with a strong work ethic.
Gain valuable and real-world legal experience by working alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period through trial and post-trial findings and appeals.
What you'll do:
As a File Clerk, you will have the opportunity to provide excellent administrative support to your team of attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
- Manage and maintain electronic filing systems by organizing, uploading, and archiving digital documents in accordance with firm procedures.
- Scan, upload, and label documents into appropriate electronic databases to ensure accurate and timely access to case files and records.
- Maintain physical filing systems by organizing, updating, and securely storing paperwork as needed.
- Provide administrative support to paralegals and attorneys, including document preparation, basic legal research assistance, and file retrieval.
- Prepare and update Garnishment Statement of Judgment Balances every six months for each active garnishment case, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal timelines.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive legal and client information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned, including data entry, photocopying, and document delivery within the office.

- Must be physically able to lift file boxes & shred scanned paperwork
- Ability to be a self-starter and manage your project-based tasks
- Ability to work throughout the school year
Education and Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Must be an active pre-law college student
