Position Summary
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Solar Consultant based in the Chicago area. While some work-from-home flexibility is available, in-person engagement with clients and team collaboration is often required. The Solar Consultant will be responsible for generating leads, providing consultations on solar solutions, preparing proposals, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the sales process. Building strong relationships with clients and staying informed about solar industry trends are key aspects of this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Generation: Build and manage a pipeline through canvassing (D2D), referrals, social media, and networking.
- Consultative Sales: Conduct in-home or virtual consultations to educate homeowners on the benefits of renewable energy.
- Financial Analysis: Perform energy audits and explain the various finance options that are available.
- System Design: Create custom solar solutions using industry-leading software.
- Communication: Act as a point of contact for the homeowner, in conjunction with the project management team to ensure a seamless experience.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 2 years of experience in sales or financial services (Solar, Real Estate, or SaaS experience preferred)
- Knowledge: Ability to interpret utility rates schedules, supply vs. generation, nuances of any available credits, and financing options: e.g. Lease, PPA, and purchase.
- Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills–inculding verbal and written, and an innovative and problem solving mentality
- Equipment: You must have your own transportation and presentation means (laptop/tablet)
- Transportation: Must maintain a clean driving record and clean MVR to operate a vehicle. Must possess a valid and current drivers license
- Credentials: Maintain all state level compliance requirements in the regions you are selling.
