Role Description The Sports Performance Intern role is an unpaid, on-site internship based in Bentonville, AR. The intern will assist sports performance coaches in delivering training sessions, including warm-ups, movement preparation, strength and conditioning drills, and recovery work for athletes of various ages and skill levels. Daily responsibilities may include setting up and breaking down equipment, tracking athlete performance data, observing and supporting program design, and helping ensure a safe and professional training environment. The intern will interact with athletes and families, provide basic guidance under supervision, and support special events, camps, or group training sessions as needed. This role offers hands-on learning in sports performance, exposure to ETS training systems, and opportunities for mentorship from experienced coaches.
Qualifications
• High level of interest in becoming a strength and conditioning or sports performance coach
- Ability to demonstrate and teach basic movement patterns, exercise techniques, and warm-up protocols under supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and families.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to safety in a fast-paced training environment.
- Ability to follow coaching direction, learn proprietary training systems, and adapt to evolving session needs.
- Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a program in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic proficiency with recording performance metrics and using technology or software for athlete tracking is beneficial.
- Availability to work on-site in Bentonville, AR, including evenings or weekends as program schedules require.
- CPR/First Aid certification and any relevant coaching or training certifications (e.g., CSCS, CPT) are a plus.
