Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, piping, fondant, and other decorative techniques to meet customer specifications.
- Prepare cakes for display and sale by applying finishing touches, ensuring visual appeal and quality standards are met.
- Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, baking, and assembling cakes with precision and care.
- Package finished products securely for delivery or customer pickup, maintaining presentation quality and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist customers by providing product knowledge, answering questions about cake options, ingredients, and customization possibilities.
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety, freshness, and hygiene throughout the baking and decorating process.
Experience
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or a related culinary field is highly preferred.
- Strong skills in food preparation, baking, and culinary techniques with an eye for detail in decoration.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling practices within the food industry.
- Previous experience working in a bakery, restaurant, or catering environment is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills to engage with clients professionally and enthusiastically.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as knives, piping tools, fondant rollers, and mixers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality standards for each product.
