What are the responsibilities and job description for the Expert Opportunity – Management Consultant, Competitive Analysis ($150/hr, up to $3k/week) position at Ethos?
We're working with a leading foundational AI lab to find experienced management consultants who can help train their latest language model on competitive analysis tasks.
We're looking for Engagement Managers and above at top firms who have led competitive and market analysis workstreams for clients. You know how to structure a competitive landscape from scratch, how to identify the right signals in a crowded market, and how to package findings into output that drives a real strategic decision. That combination of analytical rigour and structured communication is exactly what we need.
You'll create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated work across core competitive analysis workflows: competitor benchmarking, market landscape mapping, buyer funnel analysis, pricing and positioning teardowns, and competitive strategy memos for C-suite audiences.
Compensation: $150/hour
Commitment: Flexible, up to 20 hours per week (up to $3,000/week)
Location: Fully remote, work on your own schedule

Qualifications:
- Engagement Manager or above at a top management consultancy (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, or BCG)
- Significant experience leading competitive analysis and market strategy workstreams
- Strong structured writing and ability to evaluate analytical output critically
