What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Veterinary Technician position at Ethos Veterinary Health?
Per Diem Employee – An employee who is available to work as needed for coverage above and beyond the full time staff members in times of need for efficient patient care. Availability requirements are established by department according to hospital necessity and will include the number and types of shifts, weekends and holidays. Per Diem employees are not eligible for benefits. For overnight shifts worked, a shift differential is offered.

Job Duties May Include
- Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
- Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
- Completing treatments for hospitalized patients
- Executing, monitoring, and recovering assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- Assist doctors/technicians before, during, and after procedures with a focus on patient care.
- Helping with everyday job duties such as laundry, restraining the patients, dishes, walking the dogs, and cleaning the kennels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must
- The ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced, fluid environment.
- Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience working in a progressive veterinary hospital setting with at least 1 year of specialty/ECC required
- Current CA RVT license or VACSP required
- Must be able to work a MINIMUM of 20 hours per month
- Must be available to work at least 1-2 holidays or company events per year
- Veterinary Assistant: $17.75 - $29.00
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): $25.00 - $35.00
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS): $31.00 - $40.00
