Role Description
This is an on-site internship role located in Rockaway, NJ, for a Farm Apprentice at Ethos Farm to Health. Responsibilities include assisting with planting, harvesting, weeding, and maintaining crops, as well as supporting the operation of the Doctor’s Farm Market. The Farm Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in sustainable, USDA Certified Organic farming practices and contribute to community education and outreach efforts. The role involves physical outdoor work in various weather conditions and collaboration with the farm team to support day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of farming, gardening, or agriculture and interest in sustainable and organic farming practices
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a farm setting
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently
- A passion for environmental sustainability, wellness, and community outreach
- Prior farming or agricultural experience is a plus, though not required
- Willingness to learn new skills and engage with a mission-driven organization
