Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys in a busy litigation practice in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with experience handling personal injury, insurance defense, or civil litigation matters from case intake through trial preparation and resolution.

The successful candidate will play a key role in case management, discovery, medical record review, client communication, and litigation support.

Personal Injury Paralegal Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury and litigation files throughout the life of the case
• Draft, review, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials
• Coordinate document production, interrogatories, subpoenas, and court filings
• Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and bills
• Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and experts
• Track deadlines, court dates, depositions, mediations, and hearings
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, settlement negotiations, and trial support
• Maintain accurate case records within legal case management systems
• Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, witness files, and other litigation materials
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or insurance defense
• Associate Degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, and court filing requirements
• Experience reviewing medical records, damages documentation, and case evidence preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic filing systems, and legal case management software
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
