Medical Receptionist Responsibilities
- Greet patients and direct them appropriately upon arrival
- Answer a high volume of incoming calls and route them to the correct departments
- Schedule and confirm appointments while avoiding conflicts or double bookings
- Enter patient information and update demographics in the EMR system
- Verify insurance details and maintain accurate patient records
- Collect co-payments and balance daily transactions
- Scan and upload documents, including IDs and patient forms
- Assist with consent forms and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk area
- Minimum 1 year of medical reception or healthcare office experience preferred
- High school diploma required (Associate’s degree a plus)
- Experience with EMR systems (Medent or similar) preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
