Overview
The Chaplain plays a vital role in providing spiritual support, guidance, and counseling to individuals in home or inpatient hospice setting. This position requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. The Chaplain will be responsible for fostering a supportive environment through meeting with families and patients at this difficult time of their lives.

Duties

  • Provide spiritual care and counseling to individuals and families during their terminal illness.
  • Conduct religious services, ceremonies, and rituals as required.
  • Offer crisis intervention support during emergencies or traumatic events.
  • Educate individuals on spiritual matters and provide resources for personal growth.
  • Plan and organize events that promote community engagement and spiritual well-being.
  • Mentor individuals seeking guidance in their spiritual journeys.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families to address their needs.
  • Manage conflicts with sensitivity and professionalism while maintaining a calm demeanor.

Requirements

  • Strong public speaking skills to effectively deliver messages in various settings.
  • Experience in crisis management and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Proficient writing skills for documentation.
  • Proven ability to educate others on spiritual matters and provide mentorship.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities within a community or organizational context.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse populations empathetically.
  • Experience in event planning to facilitate community outreach programs.
  • Background in conflict management to navigate sensitive situations effectively.

This position is essential for nurturing the emotional and spiritual health of individuals within the hospice community. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
