Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Histotechnologist II to join our Anatomic Pathology Laboratory in Oklahoma City, OK. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of histology laboratory procedures, tissue processing, microtomy, special staining, and immunohistochemistry. This role involves preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination while maintaining accuracy, quality, and proper specimen identification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify tissue specimens from clinical services and the autopsy suite.
• Assign accession numbers and ensure proper specimen identification and labeling.
• Place specimens in appropriate fixation materials.
• Assist pathologists with gross tissue dissection and tissue preparation.
• Process tissue specimens through the required preservation and fixation procedures.
• Embed and section tissue samples and mount sections onto slides for microscopic examination.
• Perform routine and special histological staining techniques.
• Perform immunohistochemistry and other advanced laboratory techniques.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and statistical data collection.
• Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with laboratory procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Histology or Natural Sciences.
• Required certification: MLT, MT, HTL, or HT certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• Knowledge of tissue processing, microtomy, special staining procedures, and immunohistochemistry.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate specimen identification.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: Up to $2,000.00 per hour
