About the Role:
The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping customer orders accurately and on time. This position ensures that all shipments meet company quality standards, shipping requirements, and customer expectations. The Shipping Associate works closely with production, inventory, and customer service teams to maintain efficient shipping operations and support overall operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify product quantities, descriptions, and shipping documentation for accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Process shipments using company shipping software and carrier systems.
- Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with production and inventory teams to ensure orders are completed and shipped on schedule.
- Inspect packaged products for damage, quality concerns, and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records in company systems.
- Track shipments and assist in resolving delivery discrepancies or customer shipping issues.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and warehouse projects as needed.
- Work across multiple warehouse functions and departments as needed to support daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior warehouse, shipping, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience using shipping software, ERP systems, or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work orders.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet shipping deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while frequently bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to frequently interact with moving equipment, shipping carriers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Overtime may be required based on production schedules and customer demand.
