Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment in the restaurant. This role is essential to ensure smooth kitchen operations and a clean dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing & Cleaning:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine, ensuring proper function and cleanliness.
- Manually wash large pots, pans, and kitchen tools as needed.
- Remove food waste and clean garbage bins to maintain a hygienic workspace.
Kitchen & Restaurant Support:
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including floors, walls, and prep areas.
- Help receive and store kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure quick turnaround of clean dishes and utensils.
- Assist with basic food prep tasks when needed.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and restaurant policies.
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals safely.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish & English) to communicate with the staff and management
Working Conditions:
- Requires standing for long hours in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
