Duties
- Assist attorneys with estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate filings
- Prepare and review legal documents related to business formations, including LLCs, corporations, and partnerships
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other case law databases to support case development
- Manage document review processes and ensure accuracy in all filings and correspondence
- Organize and maintain case files using document management systems like iManage or PCLaw
- Perform data entry, filing, and administrative tasks to support daily office operations
- Coordinate client interviews and gather necessary information for estate plans or legal proceedings
- Proofread and edit legal documents for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws
Skills
- Proven experience in estate planning and business law practices
- Strong knowledge of UCC law, tribal law & regulations, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, environmental law, and litigation processes
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Familiarity with legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective interviewing skills for client intake and information gathering
- Demonstrated experience in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and contract preparation
- Strong administrative skills including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and document management system operation
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents
