Summary:
Essentra is seeking a full-time Warehouse Supervisor for our Louisville, KY facility. This position reports to the DC Manager of the Essentra Components warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing the timely and accurate shipping and receiving of products from internal and external vendors, as well as overseeing inventory control. The primary focus is maintaining exceptional service and quality standards in all tasks performed by both the supervisor and the team, while ensuring a safe and secure work environment. The position will be onsite, Monday through Friday, with the hours being 7am to 3:30pm.
Typical Accountabilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of outbound and inbound operations.
- Collaborate with the DC Manager and fellow Supervisors to create and maintain an effective, safe, and positive work environment.
- Promote a "safety-first" culture across all warehouse activities.
- Drive improvements in on-time, in-full (OTIF) order dispatch to customers.
- Ensure order accuracy, proper packaging, documentation, and overall presentation to customers.
- Oversee timely receipt of inbound products, verifying packing slip accuracy and proper inventory identification.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and adherence to established processes.
- Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Lead training and development initiatives to build a multi-skilled team.
- Conduct regular performance and development reviews with team members; establish individual development plans where appropriate.
- Liaise with Sales and Customer Service teams across the AMERS region to meet customer needs.
- Support new or major customer accounts requiring additional attention.
- Utilize expertise to resolve operational issues and implement process improvements.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
- Maintain vendor relationships to ensure quality service and resolve issues.
- Ensure payroll timesheet accuracy.
- Communicate company policies, changes, vision, values, and departmental goals.
- Monitor employee morale and address workforce concerns.
- Serve as backup to the DC Manager when needed.
- Monitor supplies and equipment to ensure cost-effective practices.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision, preferably in a high-volume distribution environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction at all business levels.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Ability to embrace change and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic English reading and writing skills.
- Basic math proficiency.
