Job Title: Psychiatric Technician

Location: El Paso, TX (Ft. Bliss)

Job Summary:
Essential Healthcare Solutions is seeking qualified Psychiatric Technicians to conduct or assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Perform initial basic assessment procedures, including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological assessments. Identify mental health and nursing diagnoses, provide patient education, and group education. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote mental wellness and improve patient outcomes.

• Conduct or assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Perform initial basic assessment procedures, including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological assessments.
• Institute precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.
• Assist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort measures.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Coordinate with other agencies regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions. Contact military and community agencies to obtain collateral information. Explain and interpret mental health services to patients or others
• Assist in, or arrange patient referral to public, private, and military community agencies.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports about specialty services.
• Assist with the care of individuals experiencing acute and post-traumatic stress reactions.
• Prepare and maintain treatment records.

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Degree: Certificate
• Education: Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirements of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians, or completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military, and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of one year of experience within the last two years working as a full-time Psychiatric Technician.
• Basis Life Support Certification.
• Current TB screening, Immunizations, annual vaccinations, and physical examination.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Must be capable of completing Prevention and Management of Disruptive Training-Military (PMDB-M) and achieving level 4 certification. Must be able to apply restraints as needed, must be capable of lifting overhead 20 pounds, bending repetitively, twisting/turning at the waist without restriction, and have no difficulty grasping/pulling.

SHIFT: 0700-1900 Sunday-Saturday (4-5 shifts not to exceed 40 hours per week)

Salary: $33/hr.
