Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Operate access control systems to authorize or restrict entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Utilize surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity across the facility and respond promptly to any anomalies.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by executing fire safety procedures, AED operation, first aid, CPR, and other emergency response protocols.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other incidents accurately and promptly.
- Perform background checks on new hires or visitors as part of security clearance procedures.
- Manage conflict situations using conflict management skills and de-escalation techniques to maintain a peaceful environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles or law enforcement is highly desirable; military background is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of physical security practices including heavy lifting, manual handling, and fire safety regulations.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and Taser use preferred; willingness to obtain certifications if not already held.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control systems, incident report writing, and surveillance techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security assessments when required.
- Physically capable of patrolling large areas, performing heavy lifting when necessary, and standing or walking for extended periods.
