ESS Clean is looking for a Specialty Cleaning & Training Technician to support our cleaning teams and customer locations throughout the Effingham, Illinois area. This is a hands-on, active position that includes specialty cleaning projects, training new employees, filling in at customer locations, and helping wherever needed to keep our operations running smoothly. Our ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

What You'll Do

• Perform specialty cleaning projects including floor scrubbing and refinishing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and construction cleanup
• Use equipment such as floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wet vacuums, and carpet extractors
• Train new and existing employees on cleaning procedures and individual job requirements
• Follow up with employees after training and help reinforce proper cleaning techniques
• Fill in for employee absences and open positions by performing general janitorial work
• Perform quality checks to make sure cleaning meets our standards
• Deliver and pick up supplies, equipment, and laundry as needed
• Safely transport cleaning equipment between customer locations
• Drive company vehicles to and from client locations
• Work at a variety of customer locations, including offices, schools, manufacturing facilities, and medical environments

What We're Looking For

• Someone dependable who can work independently and take ownership of their work
• A willingness to learn specialty cleaning techniques and equipment — we'll train you!
• Someone comfortable teaching and working alongside other employees
• Flexibility to handle different assignments and locations from day to day
• Attention to detail and pride in doing quality work
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from work and between customer locations when a company vehicle is not available
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime when needed
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements

This is an active job. You'll regularly walk, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, carry equipment, vacuum, and lift up to 50 pounds. You'll also use and transport commercial cleaning equipment such as floor machines, automatic scrubbers, wet vacuums, and carpet extractors.

What to Expect

This isn't a job where you'll report to the same building and do the same thing every day. One day you might be training a new employee, the next you're restoring a floor, covering an open cleaning position, helping with a construction cleanup, or delivering equipment to another account. If you like staying busy, learning different skills, working independently, and being the person the team can count on to jump in where needed, this could be a great fit.
