Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, and real estate coordinators to prepare permit applications for railroad permitting to facilitate construction impacts related to transmission line and substation expansion projects
- Complete and submit permit applications, and pursue application through timeframe until permit is issued or authorized
- Obtain permitting authorizations for all crossings related to linear transmission line projects, including but not limited to: railroad crossings and turnpike crossings
- Obtain entry and access permits
- Support environmental permitting tasks if requested
- Support fiber and communication permitting tasks if requested
- Interact with construction contractors for electrical transmission lines, fiber, road building, foundations, geotechnical, survey, and restoration with respect to permitting needs and understand railroad permitting compliance
- Support Client needs as directed
- Assist with document research
- Provide assistance to client on electrical distribution projects
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 4 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects Required or
- Master Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 3 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects is Required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working with diverse skill sets in fast paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Team player focused on Client service
- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Well-organized and able to simultaneously pursue and track multiple project permitting efforts
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
