Project Overview: ESP Enterprises, Inc., subcontractor for Conduent Transportation Solutions, is seeking two physically capable Installation Technicians for a short-term MTA project involving the installation of protective shields/walls around 54 faregates across 7 subway stations in New York City.
Project Timeline:
- Phase 1: November 17, 2025 – December 19, 2025
- Phase 2: February 12, 2026 – February 18, 2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM
Locations: Work will be performed at the following MTA stations:
- 3rd Ave – 138th Street
- Bedford Park Blvd
- Roosevelt Avenue – Jackson Heights
- Broadway – Lafayette
- Flushing – Main Street
- 33rd Street
- King's Highway
Responsibilities:
- Assist with delivery, transportation, and positioning of faregate protective shields/walls
- Move and maneuver protective shields weighing up to 600 pounds as part of a team
- Support installation crew with placement and securing of shields
- Operate hand and power tools as needed for installation tasks
- Follow direction from project supervisors and lead installers
- Maintain safe work practices in active transit environments
- Assist with general installation tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven experience with hand and power tools
- Excellent physical condition with ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials (600 lbs with team assistance)
- Ability to work overnight shifts in subway station environments
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Must provide own basic hand tools, transportation, and PPE
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and around active transit operations
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Physical Demands: This position requires significant physical labor including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and moving heavy protective shields throughout the shift.
