Healtcare Integration Developer

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Integration Specialist with a deep background in Health Information Technology (HIT), Health Information Exchange (HIE), and a proven track record of integrating healthcare systems using modern interoperability standards. This role involves hands-on interface development (HL7, FHIR, Mirth), integration with dental/medical platforms (e.g., Dentrix API, Availity, Change Healthcare), and ensuring compliance with ONC Health IT certification and federal data standards. The ideal candidate brings strong project delivery experience and deep knowledge of healthcare regulations, privacy, and technical frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex interoperability and integration challenges and propose innovative, standards-based solutions.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using Mirth Connect, leveraging HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CCDA, and IHE profiles.
• Manage technical integrations with platforms such as Dentrix, Availity, and Change Healthcare.
• Support Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations with interoperability components such as Direct messaging, HIE connectivity, and master person index solutions.
• Ensure all integration activities are compliant with ONC certification standards, HIPAA, and applicable federal/state regulations.
• Gather technical and functional requirements across departments and stakeholders.
• Implement and manage electronic patient/member consent, online authentication and authorization, and identity management solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers to define timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
• Communicate integration plans, updates, and progress effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in healthcare data integration, HIT, or HIE projects.
• Deep expertise with HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, C-CDA, and IHE integration profiles.
• Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect, EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271, etc.), and scripting (JavaScript, XML, SQL).
• Strong familiarity with Dentrix API, Availity, and Change Healthcare tools.
• Understanding of master patient index (MPI) systems and Direct Secure Messaging.
• Knowledge of EHR systems and clinical workflows.
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA, HITECH, ONC Certification, and data privacy regulations.
• Experience with electronic consent, OAuth2, SAML, and related authorization technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in federal healthcare programs or state HIE initiatives.
• Knowledge of public health reporting, immunization registries, and lab reporting.
• Familiarity with agile, hybrid, or waterfall project methodologies.
• Mirth certification or other relevant healthcare IT certifications.
• Experience managing project schedules, financials, and stakeholder communications.
