Pay Rate: $100 – $150 per hour
Position Overview
Middlesex County is seeking a Strategic Marketing Lead to serve as the architect and driver of comprehensive marketing strategies for the County's consulting and continued marketing services program. This role requires a visionary marketing leader with strong expertise in aligning marketing objectives with strategic initiatives that support community engagement, economic development, and public awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing strategies and plans aligned with Middlesex County's goals and branding standards.
- Oversee multiple marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, consistency, and measurable impact across platforms and channels.
- Collaborate with County officials, the Office of Marketing, and cross-functional teams (creative, digital, PR) to ensure unified messaging.
- Incorporate data-driven research, industry trends, and emerging technologies into marketing strategies.
- Manage external partnerships with agencies, vendors, and media outlets to maximize outreach and efficiency.
- Establish and track KPIs and performance metrics to assess marketing effectiveness, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Provide mentorship and expert guidance to marketing team members to foster professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and policy requirements in all communications.
- Support crisis communication preparedness and response when needed.
- Prepare reports and presentations for County executives and stakeholders, translating data into strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in strategic marketing roles; public sector/government marketing experience preferred.
- Proven success in leading complex marketing campaigns, brand management, and public engagement initiatives.
- Proficiency with digital marketing platforms, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and CRM software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to translate complex data and market research into actionable strategies.
- Knowledge of government regulatory requirements, public records laws, and compliance standards is a plus.
