Job Overview
Join our ESM team as a Precision Grinder. We are seeking an experienced cylindrical and centerless grinder operator, OR a skilled Manual Machinist with strong mechanical aptitude who is eager to be trained in these specialized grinding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines.
- Set up and adjust centerless grinding machines for thru-feed and in-feed.
- Machine high-precision components to tolerances within ±0.0002 inches.
- Dress grinding wheels to maintain specified profiles and finishes.
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
- Measure parts using precision micrometers, air gauges, and profilometers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred: 2 years of cylindrical and centerless grinding experience.
- Alternative: 2 years of conventional manual machining (lathe/mill) with a willingness to learn grinding.
- Proven ability to read precision measuring instruments for quality assurance purposes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of wheel/workpiece speeds.
- Sharp attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints effectively.
