Mechanical Engineer – Project Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Project Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems and components. This position combines engineering expertise with project management responsibilities to ensure that designs meet technical and business requirements while projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution for new mechanical systems, products, and process improvements.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resources across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to design, analyze, and validate components, assemblies, and prototypes.
- Create and review CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments, validation testing, and system performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with R&D, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure manufacture ability and scalability of designs.
- Prepare and deliver project documentation including project plans, status reports, and technical files.
- Drive cross-functional reviews, technical discussions, and decision-making with stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in project or program management.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).
- Strong project management skills with experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering.
- PMP or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Experience in manufacturing support, new product introduction (NPI), or continuous improvement projects.
- Familiarity with GD&T, prototyping methods, and testing/validation processes.
- Prior experience managing multi-site or cross-functional engineering projects.
