Healthcare Program Support Specialist (Insurance Assistance Program)
Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid – In Office Every Monday)

Duration: 09/07/2026 – 06/30/2027 (Contract, with potential extension)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Healthcare Program Support Specialist to support the Tennessee Department of Health's Insurance Assistance Program (IAP), part of the Ryan White Part B AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for healthcare case managers across Tennessee, providing guidance on program enrollment, eligibility, renewals, and issue resolution. You will collaborate with healthcare providers, state partners, and vendors to ensure clients maintain uninterrupted access to life-saving HIV medications and health insurance coverage.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare administration, health insurance, public health programs, patient services, or healthcare customer support.
Responsibilities
- Assist case managers with program enrollment, eligibility, renewals, and participation.
- Troubleshoot enrollment and insurance-related issues affecting access to care.
- Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, vendors, and the Tennessee Department of Health.
- Provide outstanding customer service via phone and email.
- Document client interactions, research issues, and follow through to resolution.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support quality assurance, workflow monitoring, and program operations.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and program confidentiality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of customer service experience in healthcare, public health, health insurance, or healthcare administration.
- Experience supporting healthcare operations, enrollment, benefits, or client services.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience documenting cases and managing follow-up activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case management or database systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program or ADAP.
- Experience with health insurance enrollment or benefits coordination.
- Knowledge of HIV care programs and medication access services.
- Experience working with state or federally funded healthcare programs.
