Buyer

ESDEGCO is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to manage the sourcing and procurement of goods and services while providing essential support to our warehouse operations. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in public sector procurement, specifically working with state contracts, who is also comfortable with hands-on inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Contract Management:

• Source and acquire materials, equipment, and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with quality standards.
• Utilize and manage state contracts and cooperative purchasing agreements to streamline procurement and ensure legal compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure the best value.
• Evaluate supplier performance and resolve discrepancies regarding orders, invoicing, or defective goods.
• Analyze market trends and historical demand to forecast future purchasing needs.

Warehouse & Inventory Support:

• Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor stock reorder points to prevent shortages.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting shipments to ensure they match purchase orders and satisfy specifications.
• Coordinate returns to vendors for incorrect or damaged products.
• Oversee the distribution of special-order products.

Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Experience: 3 years of purchasing or inventory experience.
• State Contract Knowledge(preferred): Proven experience navigating state procurement laws, bidding processes (RFPs/RFQs), and using state-approved vendor lists.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to [e.g., 25–50] lbs and work in a warehouse environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
