Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced landscape crew leader who is responsible for directing a team and executing landscaping projects. This employee will work to install hardscape projects including patios, walkways, steps, and retaining walls to complement the landscape on residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently leading the landscaping crew.
Duties
- Interface with management, on-site team and customers
- Procure materials
- Read and execute a landscape design
- Maintain quality and productivity at the job site
- Operate Skid Steer, Dump Truck, Endloader, Excavator and other heavy equipment
- Plant vegetation such as flowers, trees, shrubs, and hedges
- Dig, spread, and level soil using shovels, rakes, and other hand and landscaping tools
- Clear debris and remove waste from landscaping areas
- Install landscape edging and borders
- Install hardscapes such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls
- Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment
Qualifications
- High attention to detail
- Supervisory experience
- Strong communication skills
- Experience problem solving and decision making skills
- Previous experience working in landscaping or construction
- Knowledge of landscaping/construction tools and equipment
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Experience with tree care and maintenance is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to landscaping tasks.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous physical activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree prefered
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
