Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated local Solar Technician to join a project in Richland, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience with solar facility maintenance, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and an awareness of safety protocols. This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve faults related to mechanical and electrical issues on solar equipment.
- Perform pad-mounted transformer switching, following Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Carry out corrective tasks on solar equipment and ensure smooth operation.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in an outdoor environment for extended periods.
- Maintain accurate EH&S documentation.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders, timesheets, PPE checks, inventory logs, etc.
- Use Maximo to manage work orders and perform administrative tasks.
- Complete Pre-Job-Briefs and ensure all paperwork is up to date.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in solar facility maintenance or a similar field.
- Completion of a Solar Training Program is preferred.
- Experience with multiple solar supplier technologies is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, hand and power tools).
- High voltage and substation maintenance experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment used in facility maintenance is beneficial.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
