Responsibilities

Work Schedule:Work schedule shall be 0730-1630 Monday-Friday to include a one-hour uncompensated meal break.

Core Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following;

• Provide preoperative and postoperative counseling and education, and coordinate scheduling and planning for operative cases.• Recover endoscopy patients when PACU staff are short staffed after receiving ACLS and PALS.• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.• Perform physical exam and health histories.• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.• Clinically direct and observe the care provided by other healthcare professionals.• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.• Perform nursing services identified in the TO.• Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.• Obtain and maintain credentials to perform conscious sedation as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:* Education:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

* Experience:One year experience in a surgery clinic, step-down unit, intensive care unit, or post-anesthesia care unit within the past 5 years

* Licensure: Current, unrestricted license in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. * Life Support Certification: Possess and maintain a current AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, PALS or ability to obtain during the first 2 months.

* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
