Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Schedule

• 24/7 Emergency Department — Night Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM
• 12.5-hour shifts (includes 30-minute unpaid meal period)
• May include weekends and Federal Holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients according to acuity and resource needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, and emergency interventions.
• Perform and document assessments, histories, and care plans.
• Provide discharge instructions and patient education.
• Support and guide LPNs, LVNs, and other healthcare team members.
• Maintain compliance with all Navy Medical Center protocols and standards.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, and readiness programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:
• Associate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program (ACEN or CCNE).
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ Emergency Room RN experience within the last 4 years,

or 3 years of extensive ER experience within the last 6 years (if a break in service).

• Candidates with prior military ER nursing experience need at least 1 year of recent experience.
• License:
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory.
• Certifications:
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC).
• Security:
• Must be able to successfully pass a Government background check.
