Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing advanced medical care on scene and during patient transport.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and trauma evaluations.
- Manage airway techniques, ventilation support, and cardiovascular emergencies with precision and confidence.
- Administer medications via injections or other methods following established protocols while monitoring patient responses.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely through city streets and rural areas, navigating efficiently under urgent conditions.
- Utilize medical equipment such as DME (Durable Medical Equipment), monitors, and airway management tools effectively.
- Coordinate with incident command teams and hospital staff to ensure seamless patient handoffs and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Paramedic with current licensure; additional EMT experience is highly valued.
- Demonstrated critical care experience, including trauma medicine at Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Extensive hospital experience with exposure to emergency room procedures and urgent care settings.
- Proficiency in triage, neonatal resuscitation procedures, pediatric emergency care, and cardiovascular emergency response.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques necessary for high-quality patient care.
- Experience with trauma care, incident command protocols, venipuncture, medication administration, and medical equipment operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks such as patient lifting and transportation.
- Excellent navigation skills on city streets combined with a commitment to safe driving practices during emergency responses.
