Sr. Checker/Precast Modeler

Brief Description

Position Overview: ERA seeks a motivated and self-directed Senior Checker/Precast Modeler to join our team at our St. Paul office location. In this in-office role you will be responsible for checking precast shop tickets and erection drawings prior to issuing for fabrication. You will also be responsible for working closely at the direction of the Lead Modeler on projects to maintain the project schedule. You may also be asked to perform tasks related to variety of precast specific drafting, detailing and 3D modeling duties. You will work collaboratively with our team while demonstrating the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality results with direct supervision and support.

This role provided the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team while maintaining independence on complex tasks. You will report to an appointed supervisor and project engineer, who will provide guidance, mentorship and review your work through regular interactions.

To thrive in this position, you should be self-motivated, detail-oriented and adept at managing your time and priorities effectively while benefiting from the collaborative environment of our office setting. Experience working in team- based precast engineering environments is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Drafting and Design

• Review shop drawings and provide quality control of your work and the work of those around you
• Aid in the creation of precast erection drawings in Autodesk Revit using Edge^R from construction documents supplied by the architect and engineer of record
• Aid in the creation or precast production tickets in Auto desk Revit using Edge^R including part drawings and bill of materials (BOM)
• Follow standards and practices per specific project requirement
  
  

3D Modeling

• Provides support for precast modeling and production tickets as needed on a per project basis
• Follow company and client-specific modeling standards and best practices
• Maintain quality control and data integrity of the Revie model as it progresses through each design phase
  
  

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with the project team to ensure the needs of the project are being met
• Report project milestones and progress on a regular basis to an appointed supervisor and project engineer
• Utilize multiple software platforms, such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and others, to meet the needs of diverse projects
• Ensure all deliverables adhere to company and client standards and client expectations
• Contribute to the overall success of projects by meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work

In-Person Core Office Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm

Friday Flex - 9:00am-12:00pm

Full-Time - Exempt

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in architectural/structural drafting.
• Excellent oral, written and communication/presentation skills.
• 8 years of Precast Detailing Experience, 4 years’ Experience of modeling precast concrete structures on the Revit platform using Edge, AutoCAD knowledge is also preferred.
• Experience working in collaborative Precast Engineering Environments is preferred.
• Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Proficient with Structural Modeler software, such as Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Autodesk ACC platform.
• Detail-oriented organized team player committed to delivering high- quality work independently and reliably.
• Creative problem-solver with strong design principles and ability to develop innovative solutions.
• Skilled at prioritizing multiple tasks while maintaining accountability and engagement.
