Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers and clients to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, pricing strategies, and contract management to support the company's growth and project profitability. The Construction Estimator will play a vital role in bidding processes, project planning, and cost control initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scopes using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets.
- Develop detailed bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-site data and assess potential challenges impacting costs.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual documents to ensure scope alignment and risk mitigation.
- Support project management teams in cost control efforts throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new estimating technologies.
- Coordinate with construction management teams to ensure estimates are feasible and aligned with project schedules.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong background in construction projects and site experience.
- Strong negotiation skills for working with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates clearly.
- Prior experience in construction management or on-site construction is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in estimates.
