Today, EQV operates more than 2,500 oil and gas properties across the U.S. Lower 48, has completed more than $2 billion in upstream transactions, and is supported by a team of more than 80 professionals. Through a disciplined acquisition strategy and integrated operating model, EQV combines investment expertise with in-house operations to maximize asset performance and create long-term value.

As EQV continues to grow through strategic acquisitions, we are seeking talented professionals who value leadership, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Position Summary

EQV Operating is seeking a Division Order Analyst to establish and maintain Division of Interest (DOI) records across EQV's upstream oil and gas portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Land, this role analyzes title documents to calculate ownership interests, prepares and processes division orders, responds to owner inquiries, and partners with Revenue Accounting to ensure accurate and timely royalty and working interest distributions. The Division Order Analyst serves as the primary steward of ownership data and is a key external-facing representative of the Land team.

Key Responsibilities

Division of Interest Setup & Maintenance

  • Establish and maintain division order records for EQV's wells by analyzing title opinions, assignments, deeds, estate documents, leases, pooling and unitization agreements, and other conveyance documents
  • Calculate working interest, net revenue interest, royalty, and overriding royalty decimal interests for each well
  • Prepare, issue, and process division orders and transfer orders to royalty and working interest owners
  • Maintain accurate ownership records in EQV's land and DOI systems and ensure alignment with Revenue Accounting

Owner Relations & Curative

  • Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from royalty owners, working interest owners, and third parties by phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Analyze ownership documents including deeds, probate records, court orders, assignments, and sale documents, and process associated ownership transfers
  • Assist with title curative efforts to satisfy ownership requirements for royalty and overriding royalty payments
  • Investigate and resolve ownership disputes and payment discrepancies in partnership with Land, Legal, and Revenue Accounting

Suspense, Escheat & Compliance

  • Manage suspense and escheat accounts in accordance with applicable state regulations, including timely reporting and remittance
  • Ensure division order setup and maintenance comply with applicable state statues governing royalty payment timing and calculation
  • Support audits, information requests, and compliance reviews by maintaining accurate and well-organized records

Revenue Accounting Partnership

  • Coordinate closely with Revenue Accounting to ensure timely and accurate monthly royalty and working interest distributions
  • Support the monthly close process by ensuring ownership changes are processed prior to monthly distribution cutoffs
  • Partner with Land and Accounting teams on transfer orders and inter-company adjustments

Acquisitions & Portfolio Integration

  • Support acquisition and divestiture activity by processing bulk assignments and integrating acquired ownership records
  • Perform ownership reconciliations against acquisition data and identify curative items requiring resolution
  • Contribute to standardization of legacy division order data as EQV integrates newly acquired asset packages

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 3 years of upstream oil and gas division order or land administration experience
  • Strong working knowledge of mineral and royalty interests, oil and gas leases, and division order processes
  • Direct experience calculating decimal interests and preparing division orders
  • Working knowledge of land and division order systems, such as BOLO, WolfePak, Enertia, or Quorum
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong mathematical and analytical accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ownership concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing royalty payments, including Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, and other major U.S. producing states

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDOA (Certified Division Order Analyst) certification through NADOA
  • Prior experience at a mid-size or large upstream oil and gas operator
  • Experience supporting acquisition-related division order transfers and integrations
  • Multi-basin experience, particularly in the Permian, Haynesville, or other Lower 48 basins
  • Familiarity with title opinion review and curative processes

What You'll Bring

The right candidate is a detail-driven analyst who loves puzzles and takes pride in getting the math right. You know that behind every decimal interest is a real owner counting on being paid correctly and on time — and you take that responsibility seriously. You're calm and professional with owners, precise with numbers, and disciplined about records. You enjoy the collaborative work of untangling complex title histories and helping the Revenue and Land teams accurately pay royalties every month.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off plus company-observed holidays

How to Apply

Qualified candidates should submit a current resume outlining relevant experience. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
