WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Equity Trust is in search of a Business Development Associate for our sales team. We are looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter who gets excited about APIs, platform integrations, and fintech partnerships. If you've sold into or worked with digital platforms, SaaS companies, wealth tech providers, or fintech ecosystems, and you thrive on high-activity prospecting, keep reading.
This isn't traditional financial services wholesaling. You'll be identifying and developing partnerships with digital platforms, fintech companies, RIA tech providers, and investment platforms that want to integrate self-directed IRA capabilities into their offerings.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Generate 25 new qualified partnership opportunities per quarter through outbound prospecting into fintech, wealth tech, and digital investment platforms
- Conduct 60 qualified decision-maker meetings per quarter alongside our Business Development Manager
- Identify platforms where Equity Trust's API and IRA solutions could integrate
- Understand technical requirements, integration capabilities, and partnership models (revenue share, referral, white-label)
- Navigate complex organizations to find the right stakeholders (product, BD, partnerships, tech)
Pipeline & Execution:
- Drive revenue contribution targets through platform partnerships and high-velocity prospecting
- Maintain rigorous CRM discipline (Salesforce) with 24-hour documentation standards
- Run weekly pipeline reviews to track opportunity progression and forecast accuracy
- Qualify opportunities using structured methodologies (MEDDIC, BANT, or similar)
Market Intelligence:
- Track fintech/wealth tech landscape, competitive platforms, and emerging integration opportunities
- Understand how platforms evaluate partnership opportunities and integration lift
- Speak intelligently about APIs, webhooks, SSO, and technical partnership requirements (you don't need to build them, but you need to understand them)
IDEAL BACKGROUND
- 3 years in high-velocity B2B sales, business development, or partnerships
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, wealth tech, API-driven platforms, or digital financial services
- Track record of exceeding pipeline generation and revenue targets
- Comfort with technical concepts (APIs, integrations, platform architecture)
Skills:
- Entrepreneurial mindset - you see opportunities where others don't
- High activity tolerance - comfortable making 40 meaningful outreach touches per week
- Consultative selling - you ask great questions and solve problems, not just pitch
- Tech-savvy - you understand how platforms make partnership decisions
- CRM mastery - Salesforce or similar; you live in your pipeline data
Bonus points for:
- Experience selling into product, engineering, or partnership teams
- Familiarity with custodial services, retirement accounts, or alternative investments
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (fintech compliance, investment products)
WHAT YOU DON'T NEED
- Financial advisor/RIA background
- Series licenses (not required)
- Deep investment product expertise (we'll teach you self-directed IRAs)
