What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Equity Staffing Group?
We are seeking a Licensed Physician (Board Certified) for a temporary assignment in Brentwood, TN supporting a Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) program. This leadership role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and provides clinical oversight, utilization management, and strategic support for home and community-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily clinical review of home and community-based service requests to determine medical necessity and ensure appropriate approvals or denials
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to clarify documentation and service requests
- Represent the health plan in Board of Hearing cases
- Provide utilization management oversight and monitor care management interventions to ensure clinical and operational targets are met
- Partner with Behavioral Health and clinical teams to support an integrated care model
- Support clinical quality initiatives, peer review processes, and performance improvement activities
- Serve as a clinical resource and advisor to the Chief Medical Officer and health plan leadership
- Collaborate with clinical operations and market teams to support organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Assist in development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide clinical leadership focused on LTSS and external communication with network physicians and providers
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted TN physician license
- Board Certified in ABMS or AOBMS specialty
- 5 years of clinical practice experience
- Strong knowledge of managed care and Medicaid, with emphasis on LTSS
- 2–3 years of quality management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills in a matrixed environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (clinical and non-clinical audiences)
- Ability to analyze clinical data and focus on key performance metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
