A well-established Central Ohio general contractor is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead and oversee the company’s estimating department. This leadership role will be responsible for managing a team of estimators, driving preconstruction strategy, and ensuring accurate, competitive, and timely project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team to ensure consistent performance and growth.
- Oversee preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate closely with operations, preconstruction, and executive leadership to support company goals.
- Review and approve estimates, scopes, and subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Support business development and client engagement efforts through pricing strategy and value analysis.
- Implement and refine estimating processes, tools, and best practices across the department.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of estimating experience within commercial construction, including design-build delivery methods.
- Proven track record managing complex projects across multiple sectors (healthcare, education, office, retail, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
