Key Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Plan and schedule engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities for large and complex systems
- Maintain current job plans, specifications, and coordinate with engineering during design/drafting phases
- Manage procurement and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services
- Prepare, manage, and execute project installation plans
- Review and implement necessary changes in design, pricing, or installation scope
- Coordinate project schedules with other trades and maintain construction timelines
- Select and monitor subcontractor performance
- Keep superiors and team members informed of project progress and status
- Assist in estimating projects and conducting site surveys as needed
- Ensure quality installation of company products through routine job site visits
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer decision makers
- Provide documented project status updates to clients
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for customer satisfaction
- Track labor and material requirements daily, weekly, or monthly depending on project needs
- Support management in forecasting resource allocation
- Review job financial reports to ensure profitability and cost control
- Oversee billing data and coordinate with the office manager on job billings
- Analyze timecards and job performance to identify and resolve issues
- Stay current on products and industry trends through literature and seminars
- Provide job concept, procedure, and product training for installers to support career development
- Oversee completion of As-Builds and project documentation
- Ensure POs are completed, warranty letters are sent, and projects are transitioned to service
- Confirm that jobs are fully billed, revenue recognized, and closeout reports completed
- Provide customer contact information to Training Specialists for follow-up scheduling
- Direct oversight of:
- Installers
- Apprentices
- Subcontractors
Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
- Project Management experience required; IT Project or PMP certification preferred
- 5 years in engineering/installation of low-voltage systems or related field
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, relay logic, and operations
- Proficient in subcontracting and project cost control
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with IT-related equipment (servers, databases, networking) strongly preferred
- Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with employees and customers
- Manual dexterity for reaching, lifting small objects, and operating office equipment
- Team-oriented, professional setting
- Office is clean, orderly, well-lit, and ventilated with low to moderate noise levels
