Position Summary:
As the Warehouse Receiving Associate, you will ensure the efficient and accurate receipt of items ordered and placed in the warehouse. You will be responsible for unloading packages and verifying that their contents match the orders. Safety and timeliness are important, and you will work closely with the team to ensure that all items are placed in their specified areas of the warehouse. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will be essential in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse.
Essential Functions:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of goods and materials.
- Conduct quality checks on received items to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
- Compare received items to purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate with the purchasing manager regarding any discrepancies/issues.
- Accurately enter data into inventory tracking systems.
- Move and store items in the warehouse, ensuring they are properly labeled and organized.
- Retrieve products for other departments as needed.
- Conduct inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Prior experience in a distribution, warehouse, or other inventory handling environment and understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures.
- Fluent verbal and written communication in English. Spanish is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., personal computers, printers, email).
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Able to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, kneel, squat, and reach.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and inventory tracking systems.
- Forklift experience with both sit down and stand-up versions. Certification a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
