Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Family Law & Estate Planning Attorney with at least five years of relevant experience and an active Pennsylvania law license. The ideal candidate will effectively represent clients in both litigation and transactional matters involving family law and estate planning, providing sound legal advice, strategic advocacy, and personalized service. HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE!!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel and representation in family law matters including:
- Divorce and annulment
- Child custody and support
- Spousal support/alimony
- Property division
- Domestic violence/Protection from Abuse (PFA) proceedings
- Prepare and negotiate marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, and related court documents
- Advise clients and draft legal instruments in estate planning such as:
- Wills
- Trusts (revocable and irrevocable)
- Powers of attorney
- Advance health care directives
- Probate and estate administration
- Conduct client consultations, legal research, and case analysis to develop strategy and counsel
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence for filing with Pennsylvania courts
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials
- Maintain accurate case files, track deadlines, and manage case workflows
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients regarding case status, fees, and options
- Collaborate with paralegals, staff, and other attorneys to achieve positive client outcomes
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in the Pennsylvania Bar
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing in family law, estate planning, trusts, and related litigation
- Strong litigation experience and courtroom demeanor
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently
- Exceptional interpersonal and client communication skills
- Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality
- Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in both contested and uncontested family law matters
- Estate planning experience, including drafting and administration
- Mediation or alternative dispute resolution (ADR) experience
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys or supervising support staff
