Field-based role covering the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, AK)
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a key scientific expert supporting the Gastroenterology (GI) portfolio across the Pacific Northwest region. This field-based role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and academic institutions, while providing high-quality scientific exchange aligned with the company's medical strategy. The Senior MSL will play a critical role in advancing clinical and scientific understanding of GI disease areas, supporting clinical development, and ensuring the appropriate use of company therapies.
Scientific Engagement & KOL Management
- Identify, develop, and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with regional and national KOLs, investigators, and HCPs within GI
- Deliver accurate, balanced, and timely scientific information on disease state, pipeline assets, and marketed products
- Gather and communicate actionable medical insights to inform internal strategy
- Support clinical trial activities, including site identification, feasibility assessments, and investigator engagement
- Facilitate investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and collaborative research initiatives
- Provide education on study design, data interpretation, and ongoing clinical programs
- Execute the regional medical plan in alignment with national and global objectives
- Support medical congress activities, including KOL briefings, coverage, and insight gathering
- Contribute to advisory boards, speaker training, and medical education initiatives
- Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial (within compliance), and Market Access teams
- Provide field-based medical expertise to support internal stakeholders and strategic decision-making
- Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory, legal, and company policies
- Maintain deep knowledge of GI therapeutic areas (e.g., IBD, IBS, hepatology, or related conditions)
- Stay current with emerging data, treatment guidelines, and competitive landscape
- Serve as a trusted scientific resource internally and externally
* Doctoral degree in life/health sciences is preferred (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent), Master's degree in health sciences (MSN, NP or PA) is the minimum requirement
* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a field-based medical science liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry is required
