The housekeeping/laundry crew leader assures that the highest quality of service is being delivered to River Edge Manor residents and members by ensuring a clean and orderly building.
Pay Rate - $18.00/hour
Monday - Friday - 18-20 hours a week
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Monitors completion of daily work assignments for the housekeeping staff/vendor.
- Inspects the building for adherence to established cleaning standards, identifies problem areas, and ensures correction.
- Responsible for notifying director of supply and equipment needs.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Mop all tile and LVT areas.
- Empty all waste baskets.
- Maintain cleanliness in special purpose rooms and all public/common areas.
- Properly dilute and use all chemicals in accordance with procedures.
- Wear protective gloves when performing various tasks.
- Report any hazardous conditions or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Notify administrative team and other appropriate parties of changes in resident status.
- When apartment cleaning/turnover needed:
- Sanitize all bathroom fixtures (tub, sink, toilet, etc.).
- Clean kitchen thoroughly, including countertops, stove, refrigerator, cabinets.
- Dust as needed.
- Strip bed and remake with second set of resident linen.
- Gather all towels and washcloths, and sheets, for laundering.
- Follow apartment checklist for complete services.
- Responsible for training and development of new and incumbent staff/vendors and/or development of laundry service program.
- Complete personal resident laundry according to program development, as requested by residents.
- Respond to emergencies as per building protocol.
- Attend departmental in-services, staff meetings and required facility in-services.
- Wear departmental uniform or required attire during all shifts.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to receive and give written and oral directions.
- Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.
- This position may/will be required to provide direct care or have access to resident property or belongings.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent or willingness and ability to learn procedures necessary for position.
EXPERIENCE:
- Six months’ environmental services experience preferred, preferably in a health care setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Performing duties of this job requires prolonged walking and standing. Must be able to regularly lift 30 pounds and occasional lift 50 pounds without assistance and the ability to sit, talk, and hear is required.
