What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended Day Assistant, St. Mark’s Campus, 2025-26 (PT) position at EPISCOPAL SCHOOL of JACKSONVILLE?
Primary Function: Extended Day teacher at Episcopal School of Jacksonville St. Mark’s Campus. Work hours are Monday – Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with the possibility of working extra hours on early dismissal days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with supervising a group of children ages Pre-K 3 – 5th grade on the playground, snack time, homework help, arrival and dismissal from extended day
Help with record keeping through the use of our dismissal app
Help straighten up the extended day area at the end of the day
Be able to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
Help to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
At all times, demonstrate professional responsibility in all tasks assigned; display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
Basic Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Employee must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and complete Safeguarding God’s Children class.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Employee should have the ability to manage students.
Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Employee should dress professionally, yet appropriately for working with children.
High School Graduate or GED
Employee should be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Employee should be able to squat to a child’s height and maintain eye contact.
