TITLE: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Office Administrator Effective: 10/01/2025
Part-Time (20 Hours/week) - FLSA nonexempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The St. Mark’s Office Administrator will provide administrative and support services for St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, church staff, and lay volunteers, equipping and empowering the community of faith in carrying out its mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answer the phone and disseminate information during church office hours.
- Manage master calendar for St. Mark’s, including online calendar.
- Assist in creation, design, edit, distribution, and storage of all church communications, including social media accounts, website, monthly and weekly newsletters.
- Maintain service agreements and vendor contracts for all services performed as needed in conjunction with the property committee.
- Receive “Building Usage Requests” and manage the scheduling of rooms for meetings and events, including the scheduling of electronic door system.
- Coordinate as needed and work with volunteers.
- Other administrative duties as requested by the pastor, cantor, staff, or council.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent St. Mark’s Lutheran Church as well as its mission, vision, and values.
- Organize, update, and maintain church files in coordination with church staff.
- Maintain professional, positive attitude and confidentiality always.
- Network in the community and with other churches, as necessary.
- Attend staff meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of office administration experience (or equivalent)
- Willingness to learn and an ability to build effective relationships, relate positively and communicate effectively with church members, lay volunteers, community organizations and partners, and guests with a diversity of personalities and opinions.
- Basic understanding of the Lutheran Church preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to move freely throughout the office and church facility.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on rare occasion.

SUPERVISION: Direction and supervision from the Pastor with the Executive committee serving as the personnel committee.
HOURS:
20 hours per week, ideally 9am-1pm Monday through Friday. Flexibility available.
*Membership within St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is not required.
