Who We Are
Epic Septic of New Haven County is launching a locally owned septic services business backed by an established team with experience in excavation, site work, and construction.
We’re building a company customers can count on: responsive service, clear communication, and work done right. We’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to help launch the business, lead daily operations, and build a team that takes pride in its work.
We operate by the EPIC Standard:
- We Show Up & Take Charge: We respond, follow through, and do what we say we’ll do.
- No BS: Straightforward communication with customers and our team.
- Top-Tier Workmanship: Safe, professional work performed with care.
The Opportunity
This role combines operations management, customer service, sales, and field coordination. You’ll manage schedules, support the crew, communicate with customers, and keep jobs organized from the first call through completion.
You should be comfortable working at a computer, visiting job sites, solving problems, and stepping in where needed. You’ll have support from ownership and experienced industry professionals, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the business grows.
Septic experience and relevant Connecticut licenses or certifications are strongly preferred. We will also consider an organized, customer-focused manager from a related service or construction business who is willing to learn the industry and pursue applicable credentials.
What You’ll Do
- Help launch the business. Complete franchise training, learn our systems, and establish scheduling, customer service, and operating procedures.
- Run daily operations. Coordinate appointments, routes, crews, equipment, and job schedules.
- Take care of customers. Respond to inquiries, explain services and estimates, provide updates, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Lead the team. Set expectations, support hiring and training, and hold employees accountable for safety, workmanship, and professionalism.
- Keep accurate records. Maintain customer information, job notes, photos, estimates, invoices, and follow-ups in our business software.
- Coordinate field work. Work with qualified personnel on pumping, inspections, repairs, and installations. Perform technical work within your qualifications and authorized scope.
- Support business growth. Follow up on leads, identify appropriate service opportunities, and build relationships with local referral partners.
- Manage performance. Track revenue, job costs, productivity, and customer satisfaction, and work with ownership to improve results.
- Protect our equipment and reputation. Coordinate maintenance and make sure every job reflects the EPIC Standard.
What You Bring
- Experience managing operations, crews, projects, or customer service in septic, excavation, plumbing, construction, home services, or a related business.
- Strong organization and follow-through—you can manage multiple jobs without letting details slip.
- Clear communication and a professional approach with customers and employees.
- Comfort using scheduling software, customer management systems, email, spreadsheets, and mobile apps.
- Practical judgment, initiative, and the ability to solve problems independently.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout New Haven County.
- Ability to visit active job sites and work outdoors when needed.
- Willingness to complete training and learn our services, systems, and procedures.
Preferred qualifications: Septic industry experience, relevant Connecticut trade licenses or septic certifications, estimating experience, and experience leading field crews. Please list any licenses, certifications, or CDL credentials in your application.
