The Opportunity
This is not a “build internal tools forever” software role.
This is a chance to join a fast-growing AI company at the point where product-market fit is real, demand is accelerating, and engineering is directly shaping how the company scales.
The platform is already handling massive real-world workflow volume, and the next set of engineers will help turn that traction into durable product and infrastructure. You’ll work on high-impact implementations, build production-grade systems, and help deliver AI-powered workflows that solve real operational problems in healthcare.
The work is fast-moving, customer-close, and meaningful. You won’t be tweaking edge-case UI details. You’ll be building software that actually changes how people access care.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship custom AI-powered workflow solutions for healthcare customers
- Partner closely with Agent Product Managers to translate requirements into production-ready software
- Own work end-to-end, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and iteration
- Build scalable backend systems and APIs that support complex operational workflows
- Contribute across the stack when needed, with a clear backend lean
- Help improve internal tooling and shared systems that support broader implementations
- Work directly with real user problems and help shape how solutions get delivered in 6–10 week cycles
- Collaborate with a high-caliber engineering team on platform, product, and infrastructure work
What They’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering
- Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- Experience building production-grade, scalable applications
- Product-minded, high-agency, and comfortable moving quickly
- Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to ramp fast in a complex environment
- Excited by real ownership, ambiguity, and building things that matter
Strong Signals
- Experience at a high-growth startup or notable product company
- Big tech experience with clear progression/promotion
- Background in healthcare, fintech, legaltech, AI, or other workflow-heavy domains
- Experience with Retool
- Strong CS fundamentals, whether from school, past teams, or clear work history
- A track record of working on meaningful, high-impact projects rather than low-leverage UI polish
What This Role Looks Like Day to Day
This role sits in the middle of product engineering and implementation engineering.
Most hires here will work closely with an Agent Product Manager to build custom solutions for customer workflows, usually on tight timelines. Some may lean more into internal product or platform work over time, but the common thread is speed, ownership, and solving real problems with high-quality software.
This is a great fit for someone who likes:
- moving fast without being sloppy
- owning real deliverables
- building in close proximity to users
- shipping software that matters
- being part of a team that is scaling hard and expects a lot
What Won’t Be a Fit
- Looking for a remote or hybrid setup
- Looking for a pure research role
- Looking for a purely managerial path
- Coming from slow-moving environments without strong product or startup signal
- Preferring highly scoped, low-ambiguity work with minimal ownership
Location
San Francisco, CA
This role is fully onsite.
