Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations across the facility, ensuring equipment, systems, and the building are running safely and efficiently. This role oversees the maintenance team, sets priorities, and works closely with third-party vendors to keep everything operating with minimal downtime. It’s a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance big-picture planning with day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, setting clear expectations and priorities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventative work
- Plan and schedule routine and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Conduct regular facility inspections, identify issues, and take action to resolve them
- Manage and coordinate third-party vendors and contractors, including scheduling, performance oversight, and ensuring work meets company standards
- Source and manage materials, parts, and equipment needed for maintenance projects
- Support and perform complex repairs across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems when needed
- Ensure all areas of the facility remain clean, organized, and in good working condition, including docks, workspaces, and common areas
- Monitor work quality and ensure all maintenance tasks are completed thoroughly and safely
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Step in on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support operations
What You Bring
- Experience leading maintenance operations in a fast-paced environment (distribution or similar setting preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general facility systems
- Proven experience managing third-party vendors and contractors
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and adapt quickly to changing needs
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with all levels of employees and leadership
- Ability to assess issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed
- Comfortable being on your feet, walking the floor, and climbing stairs throughout the day
- Willingness to work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures
