What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Day Camp Counselor position at Ephrata Recreation Center?
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and games
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their personal growth and development
- Assist with daily camp operations, including meal times, clean-up, and maintenance of facilities
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns
Skills:
- Experience in babysitting, childcare, or early childhood education
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles (if applicable to the camp's mission)
- Background in theater or performing arts for leading drama activities
- Ability to manage behavior and implement behavior management strategies
- Familiarity with special education techniques for working with campers with special needs
- Tutoring or teaching experience for providing educational support to campers
- Sports coaching skills for leading sports activities
