Physical Education Teacher - 1.0 FTE
Ephraim Curtis Middle School is seeking a qualified Physical Education Teacher. The Physical Education Teacher works with grades 6-8, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students to express their athletic abilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate physical education classes designed to foster athletic development across grades;
- Collaborate alongside classroom teachers to connect student learning through physical education, where appropriate;
- Maintain strong classroom management and communicate with classroom teachers as needed;
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students;
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques;
- Willingness to think “outside of the box” to problem solve;
- Seek the assistance of district specialists as required regarding the learning disabilities of students;
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required;
- Maintain accurate grading system to share growth with families through report cards;
- Foster student interest in and understanding of physical education;
- Engage all students in skills aimed to increase each child’s growth;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
