Job Summary:

The Director of Sales Forecasting & Operations leads the development and execution of accurate, customer-level forecasts and represents the sales perspective in achieving strong alignment with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing. This role owns the end-to-end customer-level sales forecasting process, drives sales inputs into S&OP, and translates commercial strategy into actionable demand plans that optimize service, inventory, and financial performance. This leader serves as the central point of accountability for demand signals, forecast integrity, and cross-functional alignment, enabling proactive decision-making and scalable growth.


Responsibilities:

Strategic Forecasting Leadership

  • Own the development of accurate, item-level forecasts by customer, integrating POS data, historical trends, and commercial inputs
  • Establish and continuously improve forecasting methodologies, tools, and governance
  • Lead bottoms-up forecasting for innovation in partnership with cross-functional partners
  • Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and bias at both customer and national levels

Ownership of Sales Input into S&OP Process & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Responsible for the sales team’s input into Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process end-to-end in partnership with Demand Planning and Supply Chain
  • Translate commercial strategy and sales plans into executable demand signals
  • Identify risks and opportunities early and drive cross-functional mitigation plans

Process & Operating Model Excellence

  • Design and implement a scalable, standardized sales forecasting process across the organization
  • Establish clear cadence, structure, and accountability for Sales Plan Alignment meetings and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Elevate planning discipline through data, tools, and performance management

Business Performance & Insights

  • Own and communicate demand-related KPIs including forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory health
  • Deliver executive-level monthly and quarterly business updates with clear insights, risks, and actions
  • Provide forward-looking analysis to support financial planning and business strategy

Customer & Supply Chain Integration

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for customer supply chain collaboration as it relates to forecasting, service, and inventory
  • Oversee allocation strategies to optimize service during constrained supply environments
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to manage excess and obsolete inventory, minimizing financial risk


Requirements:

  • 10-12 years of experience in sales operations, sales planning, demand planning, supply chain, or commercial finance
  • Proven leadership of commercial forecasting/planning processes
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with experience in forecasting and data-driven decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams preferred

FLSA Status:

FLSA exempt.

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
